The Locals Call it Radelaide

The Groovy Grape bus got me to (R)Adelaide at about 6pm on Sunday and dropped me outside Carey's house HURRAH! Two crazy things you need to know:
1. When you cross over from Victoria to South Australia the clocks go back by 30 minutes; what's the point?
2. It is forbidden to carry fruit or veg over the border and failure to comply could result in a 3000 dollar fine. Why? Because of fruit flies; surly they can fly over the border???

I'm thinking there are a lot of rules and regs here. For example, you can only cross the road if there is a green man, even if there isn't a single car in sight. Yet again, failure to comply could result in a hefty fine, bonkers.

So below is a photo of the reunited roomies enjoying their first beverage over dinner down the pub.
Afterwards we went back to Carey's place so that I could slip into slinky frockage. Then it was a night on the town with Sophie, Carey's daughter who is 18 years young.

Below is me dancing in the pub. Sophie's boyfriend's mate was totally hitting on me. He was twenty something and looked like he had come in fancy dress as Alan Partridge. No chance ah ha, I am old enough to be his grandma lol.
Next we went to a karaoke bar as I had an urgent itchington that needed scratchingtons. Below is a photo of Soph and me doing Shania Twain, 'man I feel like a woman.' I also did 'big spender,' not again I can hear you all groan. To be honest the memory of my Shirley impression is all a tad hazy, too many beeringtons methinks and these days I really can't hold them:(
We were gonna go clubbing but I fell asleep at the table so was poured into a cabbage. Maybe Bobs is right and I am a dirty old soakage after all:)
I certainly slept soundly and felt as rough as badgers the next day, I really am too old for it and need to learn.

This is the three of us nursing our heads the following day and ordering a big fry. I am sooo ashamed to tell you but feel it necessary to share...half way through my breakfast I felt all hot and clammy and had to dash to the loo. Unfortunately I didn't make it and hurled in the gardens in full view (I believe the Ozzie's call it gipping). There were two guys in cycling gear next to us giving me evils. Carey told them it was the sight of them in Lycra that had made me so ill. Australians call such menfolk mamils (middle aged men in Lycra), which made me chuckle.
So after Gippgate Monday was taken slowly. A stroll on the beach and an ice cream was all I could manage. In the evening we went for dinner at Sister Bernadette's house, Carey's dear friend and Sophie's godmother. She is a nun in the Dominican order so hopefully some of her godliness has rubbed off onto me. She was a truly lovely lady and made me most welcome.

Tuesday saw Carey leave the house at 5.45am to go to her boot camp exercise class, crazy bird! I stayed in bed, after trying to catch up on bloggingtons I needed extra kippage. Carey's new fella was coming for dinner so we went to Adelaide's renowned foodie market to buy fancy grub. Note to nears and dears, Carey's mate set up a profile for her on e harmony to find her a man, maybe I should get someone to do that for me when I return to blighty? Later we indulged in a girly lunch where we ate pizza, drank wine and swapped  life stories then off to Mount Lofty. I had thought we were gonna climb it but when I got out of the car and asked where it was we had driven to the top already lol. Below are the pictures of us and the views.

Starstruck lovers, Carey and Sasha. He seems like a really genuine, decent bloke.
And this is the feast we (well mainly Carey) prepared.
Tomorrow is my last day in Adelaide before heading back to Melbourne. I'm gonna get my hair cut in the morning then go shopping with Carey to help her choose a very important outfit; she is meeting Sasha's friends for the first time this Saturday. I'm meeting couch surfing Matt for a drink on Thursday night then Friday I get my camper van, how exciting. What made me happy in Adelaide? Just hanging out with a like minded bird such as Carey, I can just be myself which is nice xxxx
