Short bloggingtons today as I am having molto fun in Sydney with Ella, the girl I met in Cambodia.
After Tilba Tilba (so good they named it twice) I headed north up the coast road to Jervis Bay. It was there that I met the grumpiest ozzie that ever lived. The story goes like this:
I've been arriving at various campsites each day after the reception has closed. Usually the safety barrier is up and there is a note for late arrivals saying come on in, find a spot and see us in the morning. So I rocked up to Jervis Bay Caravan Park at about 6.30pm, the office was closed but the barrier was down. There was a post box with a key in it and a big sign and arrow pointing to it saying 'late arrivals.' As I was a late arrival I opened the box and found an envelope inside, opened the envelope which had a code for the barrier, a map to pitch 14 but no price. All very weird but I took said envelope, found the pitch and asked some fellow campers about pricingtons. Anyways, after 5 minutes I decided to leave and go elsewhere. When I got back to the reception I met a couple in a motor home who were looking for their envelope. I apologised profusely, explained my misunderstanding and handed it over. In the meantime they had contacted the owner who was now in reception. She went bonkers at me saying 'how dare you take an envelope with somebody else's name on it.' I repeated how sorry I was and that I hadn't looked for a name as I thought it was for any late arrival, which included me.
'Didn't you see the big square button with emergency written on it' she yelled' you were supposed to press that!'
'Yes I saw it' I replied, 'but in England you only press an emergency button if you are on fire.'
Anyway, she looked like she was gonna cry, told me I was a threat to security and to fook off and find somewhere else. A big over reaction for an envelope that went missing for 5 minutes in my humblest lol. I found another campsite and told them what had happened, they were pissing themselves laughing.
Anyway, good thing happen to good people because at my new campsite I met Tracy and Mick. A really nice couple in their late 40s who made me tea with real milk and gave me a whole heap of places I should go and see on my road trip; the first one being Hyam Beach which boasts the whitest sands on the planet (or is it just Australia?)
It's so fine and rich in silica that it squeaks when you walk on it.
I've been playing with that self timer again.
I had the whole place to myself for 2 wonderful hours.
I call this photo 'tricolour'
And this one 'sandy toes.'
This is a whale.
More beach shots, it really was stunning.
I left the beach at lunchtime to head for Sydney and arrived at Ella's Friday afternoon at about 5pm, she is even prettier and funnier than I remember. We went on a girls night out with her lovely friends; such fun! Yesterday we caught the ferry to the beach, ate fish and chips and watched the fireworks. I think everything is making me happy at the moment, which is fabuloso:D More on Sydney in next bloggage. This is Adilady saying love to you all and over and out xxx
