Farewell Melbs

Super quick bloggingtons today. I'm in the middle of nowhere, shit connection re WiFi and I'm having to pay!!!! Call themselves civilised these ozzie's lol.

So I returned to Melbourne on Thursday and was meeting Matt for dinner and picking up the camper Friday morning. I was gonna stay in a city centre hostel but Matt said 'fook that' and offered me his spare room, he even drove me to get the camper in the morning; what a sweetheart.

Check the Adilady wheels out!
I'm like a human snail, carrying my house on my back lol.

Picture of Matt below so that my readers can put a face to a name but he was being a big girl because he hadn't done his hair.

Friday after picking up the camper I headed to St Kilda on the tram. I just pottered around really, took some sunset shots and played with the lighting on my camera.

Luna theme park dates back to the 50s and is very Olde Worlde.

And bands play in this old theatre, it is a famous local building. All very Brightonesque, which of course makes me bluesome:(

The golden building in the distance is the Eureka Tower, it holds some kind of record to do with tallness but I can't quite remember what that is. I was right at the top Thursday night indulging in 'The Edge' experience (nothing to do with extra curricular activities with the guitarist from U2 lol). So what is 'The Edge' experience? Well, they put you in a frosted class box, dangle you 3 metres over the edge and then suddenly...

The glass goes clear and they play a recording of glass slowly cracking. Apparently some people freak out but fortunately for me I don't suffer from vertigo and rational brain was well and truly in control that day.
The views were stunning, I even got down on my hands and knees to have a good gawp through the glass floor. 285 metre drop, it would take 8 seconds to freefall, gulp.

So back to St Kilda and a glorious (but wistful) sunset. The beach is famous for a colony of little penguins but I didn't see any:(

Then I got the tram back to Melbs and took some evening shots. This is the Crown Hotel, it is the most prestigious hotel in the city and Matt used to be the concierge. The concrete block in the foreground is one of several, every hour they go up like Mt Vesuvius, one after another...see below.
Why? I have no idea other than it's a great spectacle.
I am currently on the road in a sleepsville town called Mallacoota and it is raining dogs and cats. You would have had some more pictures dear readers as a guy called David I met on the campsite very kindly let me use his dongle to download my photos. David is 68 and recently divorced, I fear his loneliness has made him delusional. The weather last night was blowing a gale and I felt like Dorothy in Kansas in my little snail tent (oh the irony that she was blown to Oz but I'm already here). David had a really plush camper van so this morning he checked to see if I was OK and made me breakfast. He said 'why don't you stay in here if the weather is bad tonight, there's plenty of room.'
I was like, sounds better than my precarious tent on the roof situation and if he tries anything I could take him easily, he was 68 after all. So I said, 'that's very kind of you David but if I did take you up on your generous offer it would be just to get out of the storm...'

About half an hour later (or the time it took to download the photos in this bloggage) he said, 'I was hoping for at least a cuddle so I'm off.'

WTF! And I repeat, WTF!!!!

I have no idea when I will next have an opportunity to access WiFi so please try not to worry my lovely friends and famille. I am checking in reguarly with Carey and I will update you all as soon as I can. This is Adilady saying lots of love and over and out XXX
