Election Fever

Just a quick additional bloggington which arises from an interesting dinner conversation.

Whilst dining alone (did I mention I have no mates?) I got chatting to the waiter. I didn't get his name but he was telling me his thoughts on the imminent election here in Cambodia. As a political powerhouse I was obviously up to speed (not!) But can't fail to miss the relentless propaganda being blared out all over the city. Apparently the CPP have been in power for 30 years and are very corrupt, there is risk of unrest and killings if they are not re-elected... Nice waiter boy advised me to be well out of the way before polling day which is 28th July.

He also asked me if I knew of any organisations or philanthropists who might want to sponsor somebody like him. His family are very poor and his education for them is a huge expense. He is studying History and English in the hope of becoming a tour guide. I said I would Google but found nothing. If anybody has any info let me know as he gave me his e mail address.

Early start and off to bed, I am sending you my 'cat at the temple' pic which was saved due to an e mail attachment. I think it's rather arty. Adi lady over and out and off to bed.
