Adilady, flyinglady

Well there have been many Adilady firsts during trippingtons but I never thought I'd hurl my self out of a plane that was 15000 ft above terra firma. Yesterday, strapped to a Geordie bearded bloke called Carl, I did just that and y'know what? I wasn't even nervous. Methinks this trip may have adled Adilady's brain:D

Be glad that I bought the DVD/photo package so no need for over descriptive, flowery eulogising; the footage can speak for itself (thank fookingtons for that I hear you cry!) Did you know that from that high up you can see the curvature of the Earth? How awesome is that? Incidentally, after watching the film 'awesome' is a word I obviously use too much, and who kidnapped my voice and replaced it with Sue Pollard's????

I have tried to upload video on YouTube, try searching for 'Adilady, flyinglady'. If that doesn't work get a gmail account and join my circle, I've uploaded it onto Google +

After my daredevil exploits I spent a happy hour or two at a scenic spot just near the airport. There I listened to random strangers yet kindred spirits screaming their tittingtons off as they free fell to earth at 9.8 metres per second per second.

I could also admire Lake Taupo and the distant views of Mount Ngauruhoe (aka Doom) and Mount Ruapehu, where I had been the day before: total bliss.

I left Taupo at 6pm and headed for Lake Tutira, check out the view from my tentage...

And in the morning.

The morning was spent in Napier library updating bloggingtons and catching up with NY e mails sent by nears and dears. Then off to a winery for lunch to celebrate Adilady's accomplishments. Firstly and most obviously surviving free fall. Secondly (for those of you who don't know), landing a job for when I get back; it may only be temporary but it will help to keep wolfage from dooros. Being Adilady is a pretty cool place to be right now, I feel a million miles away from psycho birds and head fooks who try to mess with my karma:D

Check out my posh nosh.

The afternoon was spent doing a tour of Napier's Art Deco architecture. In 1931 it was totalled by an earthquake hence a complete rebuild was required. It all felt very surreal and 'Tommy and Tuppence' - and no, that isn't a euphemism... I particularly liked this hotel called 'The Masonic.'

It was on Tennyson Street along with the Art Deco Centre.

The whole town has gone 1930's crazy and makes continuous references to F Scott Fitzgerald and 'The Great Gatsby'. Why? I have no fooking clue as they were both yanks and the latter a mere work of fiction. Needless to say there is an abundance of 1930's tourist tattingtons to waste your dollars on:)

Here are the remainder of my Art Deco photos, the place definitely has charm:D

I saw this quote in the park, I rather liked it and it got me thinking, what makes some of us trailblazers and others path followers? A rhetorical question as the world needs both, they are symbiotic.

Back to Tauranga and the family Clegg tomorrow and then a tour of the Coromandel Peninsula; it's supposed to be stunning. Lots of love to you all from a very happy Adilady xxxx
